Barcelona Media, is looking for experienced researchers to apply for individual fellowships to the Marie Skłodowska‐Curie action’s TECNIOSPRING track provided by the Catalan Government (http://www.catalonia.com/en/our‐services/rdtechinnovation/tecniospring/call‐for‐proposals.jsphttp://barcelonamedia.org/section/bm‐r‐d/perception‐and‐cognition). The researcher will work at the Perception and Cognition research group which develops and applies experimental methods to evaluate key factors in the relation between users and technology (see more details in ) The fellow will have the opportunity to develop research in the field of experimental psychology/cognitive neuroscience. Specifically, candidate will be involved in the development of techniques for robust measurement of emotional/cognitive reactions through common sensor devices such as cameras, microphones, accelerometers, etc. by means on the application of signal processing and machine learning methodology and techniques.
A degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or related discipline with a strong research background in computer vision, audio and image processing, and computational methods. Candidates with a degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with acquired research experience in psychology in postgraduate studies will be also acceptable. ‐Experienced Researchers, in possession of a doctoral degree (EU‐PhD title or adapted to the Spanish system is required) ‐Researchers may be of any nationality. ‐Researchers must not have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to September 11th 2014. ‐ Researchers must have a proven record of research management (this is a special requirement of the TECNIOSPRING track, management experience need not be extensive, but some experience in, for example, leading internal projects in a research group or WPs in European projects, would be a plus). Please take into account that these fellowships are for “Excellent researchers”, which implies an exceptional record and résumé. 2 The ideal candidate should have a proven experience on experimental design and data analysis with behavioural and physiological data; good commandment of English as well as writing and oral presentation skills; a strong mathematical background and computational skills; and be fond of humancomputer interaction, biometrics, facial analysis, human motion analysis, quality of experience, sign and gesture analysis, speech‐audio analyses and/or multimodal interfaces.
